Chemical Data Resource:
An Inquiry Project
Evaluation

Please use this checklist to monitor your direction and progress. Please ask at any time if you have questions.

Evaluation of Laboratory Safety Policy Document:

  • Rules from all categories are included.
  • Rationales are clear and convincing.
  • URL's are functional and lead to the correct page.

Evaluation of Chemical Data Resource Document:

  • User-friendliness: can you get the information you need easily?
  • Ease of navigation from one part of the document to another
  • Updates can be easily made
  • Data for each substance listed is complete, including units of measure and what they mean
  • Compounds and elements listed as required are included

Evaluation of MSDS Interpretation Assignment:

  • Explanation is:
    • clear, simple
    • complete
    • neatly and concisely presented

Evaluation of Self, Group, Documents, Project, and Instructor:

Turn in a list of group members with your final product. List each person's specific contribution to the document; eg.

  • Lisa typed all information found into the document
  • Bob found MSDS info on internet
  • whole group evaluated MSDS pages

Did you contribute at least as much as everyone else in the group?

Check your understanding of your work. You will need to be able to do the following throughout the year:

  • Can you locate a MSDS on the Internet (or in classroom literature?)
  • Can you find the information you need on a MSDS?
  • Can you explain to someone else how to do this?

Create a list of 5 specific ways this project could be improved and/or the instructor have been more helpful. (Please be honest. After all, I am tactfully honest with my comments on your work. Tell me how I can better help you learn.)
