Chemistry Syllabus - January 2020
Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday
Jan 6
DUE TODAY:

ENTRY TICKET:
Choose 1 ion from your ion cards that is a challenge to remember. Relate it to an ion you know and share with a partner. Write in your notes the ions you chose, and how you will remember them.
LEARNING TARGET:
Describe physical properties of ionic and molecular (covalently bonded) compounds.
• Explain that ionic bonds form between a metal and a nonmetal
• Explain that covalent bonds form between two nonmetals to make molecular compounds, or molecules
Use electronegativity values to classify bonds as ionic, polar covalent, coordinate covalent, or nonpolar covalent.
IN CLASS:
Use the properties of bonds from class discussion to prepare for lab next class. You may use this document as a template for your report, due on Friday.
